Day 1    Arrival in Werfen, elev. 548 m. Overnight stay.

Day 2    From the market square in Werfen beneath Hohenwerfen fortress at the feet of the Tennengebirge to Tennck, 510 m. Return pat the Windbichlgut to the Riesenplatte high plateau and the Feuersengköpfl, 885 m (transmitter). From here, superb descent to a biotope and on to Werfen; 11 km. Overnight stay. Trail time: 5 hours; 600 vm each in ascents and descents.

Day 3    From the market square in Werfen along the Kaisersteig trail to the Dielalm. 1016 m, and via the Blühnteckalm, 1427 m, to the Ostpreußenhütte, 1630 m. Descent to the Blühnteckalm and on via the Schwarzkogel to the Sonneckhütte (refreshments not available), 1221 m. Through Imlau valley to the Reitsamerhof inn on the main highway; 18 km.  Overnight stay in Pfarrwerfen, 545 m. Trail time: 7 hours; 1100 vm each in ascents and descents.

Day 4   From Pfarrwerfen via Imlau, past the Jagdhaus Hölln, 963 m, and on to the Mitterfeldalm, 1670 m, located on the ascent to the Hochkönig. Return via the Stegalm, 1423 m, Grünmaissalm, past the former Hölln inn, 838m, to Reitsam and the Brennhofgut, then along the Köcksteg trail to Pfarrwerfen, 545 m; 22 km. Overnight stay. Trail time: 8 hours; 1130 vm each in ascents and descents.

Day 5   From Pfarrwerfen uphill along the banks of the Wengerbach, then to the Prandhof in Lehen. From Lampersbach via the Faistengut to the Mahdegg Alpine inn, 1212 m. Hiking path the Ellmaualm, 1530 m. Descent to the Gamskogel inn in the Wenger Au, 1019 m. Alongside the stream to Werfenweng. 901 m; 16 km. Overnight stay. Trail time: 5 hours; 600 vm each in ascents and descents. Overnight stay in Werfenweng. Trail time: 6 hours; 1000 vm each in ascents and descents.

Day 6   Panorama Hike: From Werfenweng to the Zaglauwinkel and up onto the Strussing, 1600 m. Hike over the Mayerhofalm, ascent to the Jochriedl, 1720 m, then via the Brandlberköpfe to the Frommer-Hochalm1715 m, and Frommer-Niederalm. Above the Grundalm looping to the Anton-Proksch-Haus, 1586 m, after which there is an almost flat walk to the Dr.-Heinrich-Hackel-Hütte, 1531 m. Descent to the Wenger Au and werenweng, 901 m; 20 km. Overnight stay. Trail time: 6 hours; 900 vm each in ascents and descents.

Day 7   From Werfenweng, westwards to the Zistelberghof, Samerhof inn and Schwaighart farmstead, approx. 1000 m. Descent to Hölbersberg and through the Erzherzog-Eugen-Allee to Werfen, 548 m; 10 km. Trail time: 4 Hours; 200 vm ascent, 550 vm in descents.

Prices for summer 2010:  Price for night/breakfast in a doubleroom with shower/WC per person. Accommodation in inns, guesthouses, private rooms or farms.
